Panel on teenagers who grew up in Russia.
Lara Kain, Outreach Coordinator Center for European Studies (CES) and Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia (CREECA), arranged for Svetlana Amineva and her 'gang' of teenagers from the Russian School of Art and Culture (aka Russian Educational Association, Corp.) to come to this meeting.
Older children and parents - here's your chance to ask questions about life in Russia.
Younger children will be able to socialize in the nursery.

The first meeting in our new location at Queen of Peace Catholic Church (thank you Sue Hunt!). Fun cultural activities from Russia and Eastern Europe for kids of all ages.
Lara Kain, the Outreach Coordinator for the Center for European Studies (CES) and Center for Russia, East Europe, and Central Asia (CREECA), coordinated the January meeting for the 3rd year in a row. This year was unusual in that there was no blizzard.
Lara invited Svetlana Amineva along with a group of kids from the Russian Educational Association, Corp. to come to the meeting.
Svetlana's kids and friends put on a wonderful production of Kolobok, the round Russian equivalent of the gingerbread man. The fun did not end with the show. Other activities included decorating cookies that looked suspiciously like the star of the show, learning the story behind Matryoshka dolls, coloring pages, and a very popular game involving human arches and stolen partners.
Thank you so much to everyone who made this evening possible: Sue & Chris, Lara, Svetlana and company, Barb & Jeff and to everyone else who ventured out from the warmth of their homes on a chilly January evening.
